Norfolk Development XI beaten in opening game

A late fightback was not enough to stave off defeat for Norfolk’s Development XI against their Lincolnshire counterparts at Boston yesterday.
Norfolk elected to bat and mustered 178 for eight from 50 overs, thanks mainly to 53 from Ali Shearer who steadied the ship mid-innings.
Lincolnshire reached 95 for one before Ashley Watson, Ryan Findlay and Brett Stolworthy took six quick wickets between them to raise Norfolk hopes. The hosts held their nerve however to win by two wickets with 11 balls left.
