Lowestoft Town will move within touching distance of the Ryman Premier play-off places if they return from their 400-mile round trip to Bognor Regis Town with three points tonight.

The Trawlerboys extended their unbeaten run to five matches on Saturday, when an 88th-minute goal from striker Chris Henderson rescued a 1-1 draw at Harrow Borough.

Bognor are the team directly above Lowestoft in the table, with just two points separating the sides.

Joint manager Ady Gallagher feels his side are finally starting to find some consistency as their injury crisis continues to ease.

“The squad is starting to look slightly more healthy and hopefully we can stay away from injuries now,” Gallagher said.

“Certainly I’ve been happy with the spirit of the lads in the last five or six games. On Saturday we were magnificent and we have been much better away from home since the previous game (a 1-0 win) at Leiston.

“There’s a real spirit amongst the players and a real togetherness.

“Bognor will be extremely tough and they are very good at home and to travel so far on a Tuesday night is a big ask, but I know we have got the players with the capabilities to cause most teams in our league a problem.”

Brothers Stuart and Jack Ainsley and winger Robert Eagle all missed Saturday’s match through suspension but should return.

Gallagher added: “We have been trying to integrate the new lads and on top of that we have had the effect of injuries which have clearly impacted on us this year.

“When you are trying to build a new squad it does take time and we are now starting to get the rewards for all our hard work with some strong performances.”
