Norwich City's bid for Leeds United's Robert Snodgrass has been rejected.

Leeds United manager Neil Warnock has confirmed that Norwich City have had a bid rejected for captain Robert Snodgrass.
The Scotland winger has been offered a new deal at Elland Road which would make him the highest-paid player at the Championship club.
Warnock is waiting on a response while also trying to fend off interest from the Canaries.
Warnock told the club’s official website: “It’s been made public that they (Norwich) have bid, but from our own point of view it’s not what we’re looking for.
“We’d like to keep Rob, and Rob knows that. Whether that will be possible we’ll have to wait and see.
“It’s difficult when players get their heads turned, but I’d like to keep Rob at the club and that’s what I’m trying to do at the moment.
“Unless they come up with a valuation that the club thinks is satisfactory then that’s what we want to do.”
Former Canaries boss Paul Lambert was a known admirer of the 24-year-old attacking midfielder and successor Chris Hughton seems to have maintained the interest.
If the Canaries, who last season were put off by Leeds’ £8m evaluation of the player, do eventually get their man it would add to the frustration of the Yorkshire club’s faithful – who have already seen Jonny Howson and Bradley Johnson defect to the Canaries in the past year.
Lambert paid £2m for Howson before last season’s transfer deadline while Johnson arrived at Carrow Road as a free agent last summer.

Perhaps the funds have been diverted to fund tribunals & litigation etc, canuk? Our newly promoted rivals have been busy, specially Reading. We`ve not followed thro` on "interest" in Chris Gunter and no news on whether we can maybe get Naughton on another season`s loan. Not even absolutely sure Whittaker is ours until the Fat Lawyers sing. At least we`ve kept Holty & Mad Marc. Still think we`ll be found wanting defensively. Yours fretfully, etc, etc.

Keep looking to see what players the new manager is going to bring in, does not seem to be much movement on this front, See lots of transfer and signings going on else where but nothing moving as far as City is concerned.. please do not say the money promised for new players has all gone already!!

Leon Barnett couldn`t get a game late last season even when Ayala was injured; R. Martin was preferred to him and to Ward - but Naughton`s gone (?) so RM will now be 1st choice @ RB? Maybe a part-exchange; Ward or Barnett for Curtis Davies? That`d solve Brum`s replacement problem and ease the deal along? Just a thought from a layman. I don`t think we need Snodgrass, it`s possibly just Colin talking up the price and trying to deflect the jet-stream with a gust of hot air. OTBC.

Completely agree, DaveG. We need to shore up the back and maybe buy another recognised striker. Our mid field is looking strong.

If they can cut the mustard surely there are enough defenders and mid field players on the books not to have to sign more, give Korey Smith and Tom Adeyemi a few games to see what they can do. If Chris Martin has cleared his head and matured he also has the ability to score goals in the Premier Div if he can take his chance.

Oh, and Staytrue, I have a feeling Snodders will leave this summer because he is ambitious and unless Bates comes through with these 'investors' and starts to properly invest in your team rather than selling everyone he can get a few quid for, he isn't going to have his ambition matched by the club. If I was him I would be looking around and wondering where everyone has gone to, and then looking and seeing players in the Prem who aren't as good as you. What would you do??

In all fairness Timbo, most Leeds fans I speak to don't like Warnock either. Something to do with him making public how much he hated them while in charge of Shef Utd?? I'll happily be corrected on the exact wording by any Leeds fans out there, but I think that was the gist of it. I guess it would be a bit like Keano saying he hated Norwich while he was manager of 1p5wich and then becoming our manager. I have to say a cold shiver just ran down my spine at the very thought!

I endorse what Kent Anglian said, Staytrue, though Baguio has a point about Warnock. It`s not good to gloat over another club`s tribulations (unless it`s 1p5wich). 3 years ago we were nearly goners. One of the chief architects of that mess is now CEO at the SPL. Nuff said.

BTW, it`d be a shame if one of our Academy boys, Tom Adeyemi or Korey Smith, didn`t get a chance to cut it in the Prem. Maybe Korey was a victim of the previous manager`s infamous impatience? Or Norwich`s remarkable surge under that regime.

I know Snodgrass is a fine player but do we really need another midfielder? I imagine there will be one or two leaving, maybe Crofts, who didn`t see a lot of action later last season. Excellent player but he will want to play regularly. Lapps maybe needs to stay as a left back? He`s quite versatile. Or perhaps Swiss`s theory about "The Spanish Way" is correct, and we`ll see Norwich taking the field with no recognised strikers? I`d rather we had a punt for Rhodes. In Hoots we must trust. OTBC.

Warnock does want to sell, thats why he made the bid public. He doesnt want to lose him for nothing next summer so want a bidding war now, that way he can start using those funds to bring players in.

Unless you've spent the last 10 years living on the planet Zog Staytrue, you'll realise that you have appointed one of the least popular managers in football. If you've got any decent players, then other clubs will delight in rumour mongering about them, just to annoy him. I personally don't think we need Snodgrass, but whatever. As to your idle boasts about over-taking us, Leeds fans have been saying that to the rest of football for years. Yawn...........

Oh dear Billy the bookworm!! Could this be yet another purchase from our feeder club?! Either way, I'm not fussed. If we get him, great. If not, we have plenty of cover in midfield. But he'll definitely be jumping ship from half-empty Elland Rd. Chin up Bill

Oh the joys of being ethered!! I do believe Archant has extra moderators on duty tonight!! It's only a matter of time now before Snodgrass becomes one of us. He won't be able to resist the lure of the EPL. It's also rather strange seeing Adam Drury in a Leeds shirt. Not sure I can cope with that. But all the best to him!!

I'm sorry staytrue but why are you putting yourself through this pain by reading about Norwich. You know he will leave, I know he will leave, everyone knows he will leave! Go and take a chill pill and then log onto the EADT and read about Ips**t#. It might make you realise that there are other clubs out there even worse than yours who don't even have any crown jewels to sell. At least Leeds can make some money. The Suffolk lot can't!

You have to admit that Colin`s a laugh. Next career; Pantomime Dame. When you think what a bigger club Leeds once were, it shows how far Norwich have come and how far down DL went. Not Colin`s fault, before his time. It was a corporate rush of blood into heads that contained little ambition beyond personal aggrandisement. Colin is obviously having to settle for the Championship, barring a miracle. There`s always the chance of a Double Act with Robby (Lily) Savage! The Ugly Sisters. On at Batley Variety Club next January.

Apologies Staytrue. We understand your situation very well. We were a 'selling club' for a long time and appreciate just how frustrating it can be as all your decent players get taken away, plus the huge difference in money between the Premier and Championship just adds to the problem. Let's hope Adam Drury does a good job for you next season.

Just had a quick total up and with the potential addition of Robert Snodgrass, this will give us 13 senior first team midfield players vying for four positions. I guess that either we are going to have some moving on or we might have one or two of them feeling rather disgruntled.

Warnock is going to have to get used to bringing on young players for Norwich. Like it or not Neil, you couldn't cut it at the top level but some of your players are much better than you and want to better themselves at a better club with a better manager and that is what will happen. If I was a pro footballer and you became manager of my club I would want out too! I look forward to welcoming Snodgrass into the fold at Carrow Road very soon.
