Goalkeeper John Ruddy has signed a new four-year contract with Norwich City, with the club having a further option to keep him at Carrow Road until 2017.
Ruddy told the club’s official website: “I’m delighted. I have never wanted to leave Norwich since I’ve been here. I’ve had a great two years so far, and I can’t wait to be a part of it for the next four years.
“I love the atmosphere around the place and it’s a fantastic club to play for. We’ve a new manager coming in too, who I’m looking forward to working with.
“The main thing for me is that my family are really settled here as well. My lad starts school in September, so it’s nice to get a bit of security for them too.
“It’s been a non-stop rollercoaster since I joined, with a lot more highs than lows, thankfully, and hopefully that will continue over the course of the next four years.”
Norwich City boss Chris Hughton added: “I am delighted to have secured John’s future at the club for a further four years. He has been a key part of the club since he has arrived.
“He has made some fantastic progress over the past couple of years here and is an integral part of the club’s future.
“His great work over the past couple of years has seen him work his way into the England squad with his call-up this summer and hopefully he can continue his great progress now for years to come.”

Seems ages since a 'keeper has established himself long-term No1 at Carrow Road, Green probably the last. Great business. As for Martin, definately deserves game time this season. Even if Holt goes, I see no need to spend big up front... plenty of firepower in midfield, too.

Another integral member of the team decides that the grass this side of the fence still tastes delicious. Good decision Ruddy. Come on Holt, your turn.

Would defo have been worth bringing Holty on last nite. Rooney looked knackered after an hour. Usual girly theatrical display from the Italians, with some Oscar winning mock-injury performances. They wouldn't have fancied mixing it with the Horse. Delighted we've got Ruddy for 4 years. Hoots must get Grant in now + read the riot act. Give him more money + the 3rd year that seems so important to him, or tell him to get out. But warn him that his transfer fee won't be cheap.

Thought that last night showed that some players are only as good as the team around them. Other than Gerrard the midfield weren't up to a lot so difficut tobe critical of the forwards So think onHolty - can West Villaham match Pilks, Benno Le Petit, Foxy, Wes, Surman, etc for supplying your goals

Great news about John Ruddy - very pleased that these players are staying. On another note, England were woeful last night and one wonders what might have been if Ruddy and Holt had been involved. Hart never came close to saving a penalty and Rooney proved he is just an over-rated, over-paid fuggly.OTBC

MBA Marine, i agree and i do believe that Declan will be going out on a Season Long Loan with a call back option. Jed is a Fine Keeper to have on the Bench But YES Declan needs to go out on a Full Season Long Loan. As for C.H. doing Business ? i think it's McNally as C.H. is Away in Florida...I Wonder if Chris Martin will be given a Chance again Now that the Lord Who he fell out with has Gone.....

That is good news, showing a real commitment to a club and a region to raise his family. I think now Dec Rudd must go on a season long loan, with a call back clause if Ruddy or Steer get injured, Rudd needs to continue his career, one year on loan and i then think its time to sell so he can be a teams no.1

Great news. Let's hope John gets back into the England squad for the friendly against Italy in August. After the dismal performance of the England strikers last night, maybe Holty will be with him!!

Fantastic news. Nice to see CH getting the existing squad tied down and not making the wholesale changes some other managers (Colin W) make when taking over clubs.
