Defending champions Cromer Town and newly promoted Dersingham Rovers maintained their perfect starts to the new Anglian Combination season with second successive Premier Division victories on Saturday.
Simon Freemantle’s hat-trick and a Julian Frary brace put visiting St Andrews to the sword, helping the Crabs to top spot on goal difference.
Close behind are last season’s Division One champions, who proved too strong for hosts Beccles. A double from Cameron Copeland and a Gary English strike earned a 3-0 win to lift them above Acle – the only other top-flight side with a perfect start.
Blofield picked up their first win at the second attempt with a 3-0 win over Kirkley & Pakefield Reserves – Damian Didwell (2) and Chris Holmes on target – while Mattishall remain unbeaten after George Watts-Sturrock and Andrew Fulcher brought a 2-1 win at opening day winners Hempnall; Ryan Haynes was on target for the hosts.
Loddon’s first win came thanks to a seven-goal thriller at Wymondham as goals from Matthew Ayre, Gary Summons, Chris Hall and Alex Brown did the business. Town’s goals came from Luke Rackham, David Ramsbottom and James McCloy.
Caister smashed Hellesdon 8-0 on their travels to top Division One, with braces from Garrett and Anton Ward alongside goals by Danny Heller, Nicholas Crawley, Mark Blake and Allen Barrett.
Sam Page’s double helped see Long Stratton to a 3-1 win over Norwich Ceymes, while William Abbs did likewise in Aylsham’s 3-1 win at Harleston.
Hindingham are the fourth team with two wins from two after David Coslett and Liam Forge led a 2-0 win over Poringland, but Holt remain pointless after a 3-2 defeat at Corton.
