Norwich Dragons boosted their survival hopes in Division 1N with a crucial 2-1 win at fellow strugglers Shefford & Sandy on Saturday.
In a scrappy encounter, the hosts took the lead in the first half, before Marie James slotted home an equaliser to make it all-square at the break.
Dragons started well in the second half and had a goal disallowed, before Laura Shreeve and James combined for Claire Baker to fire home the winner.
Pelicans’ bid for runners-up spot suffered a setback with a 1-0 defeat at Bury St Edmunds.
The hosts frustrated Pelicans in a goalless first half and their keeper made some important saves before Bury scored the only goal of the game.
Bottom-of-the-table Norwich City lost 4-3 at home to Sudbury.
Short corner strikes from Emma Collier and Emily Anthony ensured City went in at half-time on level terms with the score at 2-2. Sudbury snatched the lead after the break, but a swift attack saw Anna Horsley net the equaliser. City spurned their chance to score the winner and were made to pay two minutes from time as Sudbury broke to make it 4-3.
Harleston Magpies II secured the Division 2NE title with a 4-1 win at Dereham II.
First half goals from Anouska Hipperson and Saffron Wilford put Magpies in charge, before Hipperson and Krystal Bishop secured a comfortable win after the break.
Broadland were denied victory at Christchurch by a late equaliser.
The visitors went ahead late in the first half through Carre Mills. Tracey Buxton doubled the advantage after Danni Parke’s shot was saved, but Broadland then let their lead slip away.
In the Cambridgeshire League Premier Division, Wisbech II were beaten 5-3 at St Ives, the visitors’ goals coming from Hannah Strickle, Emma Baker and Alice Wong.
