Anthony Pilkington struck twice and Russell Martin’s glancing first half header helped the Canaries’ clinch a third top flight win in four games - but Lambert reserved special praise for the Welsh international.

Morison’s header teed up Pilkington for Norwich’s first inside the opening seconds to set the tone for a display Lambert ranked up their with the very best.

“That was one of the biggest games I have seen from a number nine in a long, long time,” he said. “Holty (Grant Holt) has played some big, big games for us but that was definitely up there with any. I thought Morison was exceptional. He was a major player for us. I think they struggled to handle him all afternoon. He has had a tough, long week with Wales but his contribution was immense before he went off with a touch of cramp.

“I don’t think any fixture is ever comfortable. We were excellent from start to finish. Swansea had a spell when they scored and came on strongly, but apart from that I thought we were excellent.”

  • Yep, Swansea have had some tough away games so far. We've only had ManU and Chelsea :-)

  • Yes, I wish they'd shown the clip of Mr Shearer when asked at the end of the 1st MOTD of the new season, "Which of the promoted sides do you think have the best chance of staying up?", replied, "Swansea!!" Agreed they have had some really tough away games so far, but I still feel we'll finish above them in May!!

  • Well said Lambo. thought Morison was terrific, so strong against defenders and I also thought Holtys cameo was excelent. Not one player let the team down. Brill display. Can't believe we are so new to the Premiership. Come on you Yellows.

  • Just watched MOTD. I think the dour Jock + the negative Geordie are actually starting to give us a tiny bit of credit for our results now (mainly cos they have no option !). Earlier match analysis was about how badly the other team had played. We're now getting some acknowledgement of how well we played @ long last. Even Bob Carolgees ( I mean Mark Lawrenson) admitted we might survive on Football Focus..PS: The Alan Partridge link was superb " And that was liquid football from Norwich". I have to get that printed on a T-Shirt...
