Crushing win for Wensum A but Foxwood refusing to give up Norwich & District Table Tennis League title hopes

Premier League leaders Wensum A crushed CEYMS B 10-0 – while second-placed Foxwood A took all the points in their away match against Gothic A.
There was also a victory for CEYMS C, who beat bottom club Wensum D 7-3.
It’s still tight at the top of Premier B, with only three points between leaders Foxwood C and third-placed Harriers A. Second-place Wensum E dropped a vital point away to UEA B, taking three points from their 6-4 win. Electricity drew 5-5 with Foxwood B and Wensum F beat strugglers St Faiths 6-4.
UEA C took a hard-earned two points from their draw with NCC A in Division One and are now 13 points clear at the top. In a good sporting match, the outstanding player was Zou Yuqi, who remained undefeated. Gothic C’s draw with Taverham B gives them hope of just staying up. Gothic’s Wendy Durrant’s victory 12-10 in the fifth against Jamie Leeder included a comeback of comebacks from 10-7 down in the last game to win the next five points. Rosebery Rd are rooted to the bottom having been demolished 10-0 by a full-strength Harriers D. Wensum G fought back from 4-3 down to beat CEYMS E 6-4 and picked up three vital points.
Missionaries continue to push The Originals for the top spot in Division Two. Missionaries lead by four points after an excellent 9-1 victory over CEYMS F, but The Originals have two matches in hand. They beat Harriers E 8-2. Paul Broome, back from injury, won a good singles for Harriers against Ryan Pink and partnered Stuart Henning to take the second doubles.
Returners B lost 7-3 at home to a thankful Gothic D side wanting all the points they can muster to take them away from the relegation zone.
In Division Three, the most competitive match of the week was between Tankards and Thorpe, the result in contention until the last game, Thorpe winning 6-4.
