Manager Chris Hughton will be keeping his fingers crossed that Norwich City’s international players return to training unscathed ahead of Saturday’s Premier League visit of West Ham United.

England goalkeeper John Ruddy, Scotland forward Robert Snodgrass, Wales striker Steve Morison, Norway midfielder Alex Tettey and Canada striker Simeon Jackson were all on World Cup qualifying duty for their respective countries.

Only Morison, who played 90 minutes in Wales’ 6-1 drubbing by Serbia in Novi Sad, and Jackson, who completed a full match in Canada’s 2-0 defeat by Panama in Panama City, were in action in Tuesday’s second round of qualifying matches.

City also had three men on duty with England Under-21s over the break, defender Ryan Bennett playing 90 minutes in Monday’s 1-0 win over Norway, with goalkeeper Declan Rudd and on-loan striker Harry Kane also in the squad.

One concern for Hughton will be defender Russell Martin, who had to pull out of Scotland’s two matches against Serbia and Macedonia because of an ankle injury.
