The Birmingham City boss was seen arriving at Carrow Road this morning and is expected to be confirmed as the Canaries’ new boss once all the loose ends of a deal have been tied up.
It is understood that the Canaries have agreed a compensation package with Birmingham for the 53-year-old.

The pronunciation of "Chough" is Chuff. For those who have not travelled to the extreme South West of this land (Cornwall), Chough is the name of a red legged crow treasured by the Cornish. No offence meant or intended in any way to any one.

So the net was thrown over Europe in the hope to snare a top european manager only for it to fall short. As far as birmingham to be precise, oh the irony. At least now you will have other things to discuss than the plight of my fine Club. I know who'd I'd rather have in charge that's for sure.

Pa Snipps, I am underwhelmed by your modesty and overwhelmed by your xenophobia. ;-) PS, goldie I think Birmingham is just slightly south of Naaridge.

Why does btb feature so much on these boards, Ar-chant? Another alter-ego of your plant? The trouble with our local journos is that they have no aptitude for what was once a profession. Just little boys in sinecures. I should Lodge a complaint. OTBC.

Sid, I`m so glad you spotted that. My attempts to say that were largely ethered, then ignored!! It`s not entirely up to Holt. There is a contract in place. I so wish I could earn £15,000 a week!

If Chris Hughton is bringing his assistants with him to Norwich, where does this leave Culverhouse & Co.? Will he too be heading to AV?

Finally, on the contract debate. When PL resigned, what he actually did was to give notice to resign at the date in the future specified in the contract. He was then on Garden Leave (paid and under contract but does not have to turn up) and so if McN said "no talking" then the discussions were still in breach of FA rules as PL was still under contract. Whether or not he had a clause that alowed that depends on which takes precedence, FA rules or the contract. I think I know what an FA tribunal would say.

Chris Hughton looks like good news, as others have said, Calderwood - we need to know a bit more. Pa Snipps, (ahem) I am afraid I can't support the nickname "chuff" and the use of the word for a digging implement on the grounds of public decency. Finally a thought on the great contract debate. PL may have resigned and talked to AV the next day with McN saying that he did not give permission. That sounds a bit patheic but what about this. When you resign, you actually give notice to resign at the time in the future specified in the contract. The minimum time for the lowest-paid job is 1 week, the minimum for this role for a high-paid skilled professional job has to be at least 3 months. What ever, the day after resigning, PL was still under contract to NCFC and was on "garden leave", i.e.you do not have to turn up but you are still paid and under contract, therefore McN's "no talking" statement is significant. What about a clause in PL's contract, well unless we can see it, who can say but my question is that if this goes to the FA for arbitration, what takes precedence, FA rules or a private agreement between an FA licensed manager and club whose alleged agreement contraveens the rules?

Who says Holt has made up him mind ? I'd say his pain of an agent senses a fee, that's all. Holt is a legend here and he know that he maybe doesn't have the chance to be as big elsewhere - given that it'd take at least three years of success to become a legend, I think he will be happy to remain the NCFC legend for another 2-3 years at least !

Welcome Chris Hughton (I'm giving you the nickname Chugh, pronounced Chuff). You will find that Norfolk folk are different in a nicer sort of way....We call a Spade a Spade, and speak Face to Face. You will soon get the hang of it.... You may have been appointed to manage this club by a Scot, but at long last we have broken the mould of being managed by the Scots and Irish, (with one exception, and we won't talk about him)....You will receive support and advice from Kings Lynn to Yarmouth, Cromer to Diss. ..Digest it well and take on board the best bits, usually after my name...We don't expect miracles, your predecessor used them up, Just do your best We are all behind you!.

I hope the Club will explain exactly what is happening about compensation for Lambert's departure. If none is offered then perhaps we should take a leaf out of Colchester's book! It would be a shame if the club loses its best ever manager and compensates another club to replace him. £million of the transfer kitty>

Regardless of whether Calderwood comes or not Holt has made his mind up to go and I can't see him changing it. Guess he will go to Villa where I wouldn't be surprised to see Whitbread end up as well.
