Norwich City breathed new life into their season with a superb win over Tottenham on Sunday – something Alex Tettey hopes will make looking at the Premier League table for the rest of the season easier to stomach.

“This is credit to the whole team and manager as well, and the players for the way we’ve been working and sticking together,” said Tettey, City having been 17th and one point clear of the bottom three before kick-off – and knowing one of those below had a game in hand.

“As a team you score together and you defend together. Ricky (van Wolfswinkel) was part of the goal, Brad (Johnson) was part of it and the whole team scored. That’s something we have to keep doing and surely the strikers will score too.

“We’re very pleased with the three points and everybody can see it’s a very important win. And yes, that table looks a lot nicer now. Saturday at home I was looking at it and thinking ‘Hmm...’ – and now looking at it again, it is a relief.”

Celebrations were understandable as City’s second win in six – and making it almost 400 minutes without conceding a goal at Carrow Road in the top flight.

“It really means so much to us and it’s crazy, because I tend to show it more than the other lads because I haven’t played as much Premier League football as them,” added Tettey. “For me to keep playing in the Premier League is very important – and it’s important to show that.”
