Norfolk will have to inflict a first Unicorns Knockout Trophy defeat of 2014 on Wiltshire if they want to keep their hopes of winning the competition alive this weekend.
Wiltshire: T I Morton, J R Levitt, H J Langford, J J Breet, M S Coles (C), E G C Young, A A Morrison, A J Miles (W), T G Afridi, J P Roberts, T J R Foley
Norfolk: J M Spelman, P A Lambert, B J France, G T Park, H Bush, C J Taylor, S K Gray (W), A M Watson, L W Caswell, C Brown (C), M P Eccles
Chris Brown’s boys make the trip to the unbeaten Group One winners knowing they progressed by coming second in their section thanks to a defeat against Cambridgeshire.
But they will have to ensure they are not on the losing side again tomorrow. Because if they are, their KO Trophy quest will come to an end at the quarter-final stage.
Brown said: “I think their record suggests they are a strong, side. There’s some some strong teams in their group, like Devon, so I would regard this as the toughest opponents we will have faced. But in a knockout competition once you’ve done enough to get out of the group every game has pressure. If you make any errors you can find yourselves out of the competition. So we’re in the same position.”
Norfolk name the same side the beat Hertfordshire by two wickets to secure their place in the last eight.
But Brown and his troops can be buoyed by their 91-run win over Wiltshire in a 50-over match last year. Jayden Levitt scored 54 that day and is a player who needs to be contained though.
