Wymondham Dementia Support Group is planning a series of events to mark Dementia Awareness Week, which runs from May 14-20.
The group will be hosting displays, exhibits and performances along with the Slow Theatre Company at the Millennium Library in Norwich throughout the week. On Tuesday from 2.45pm, there will be an 'I'm here' performance highlighting the world of people living with dementia and their carers.
On Wednesday from 12.30pm to 1.30pm there will be poetry readings, and on Thursday from midday to 12.45pm there will be an 'Engaging with Dementia' conversation session with group organiser Dianne Fernee.
On Thursday from 4pm to 5pm there will be an open mic session for writers, and on Friday from 12.30pm to 1.30pm there will be a Q&A on the facts of dementia. A sculpture created using more than 18,000 crafted forget-me-nots will also be on display.
