Police in Sheffield have released CCTV images of seven men they hope to trace in connection with violence at a Norwich City match which left two fans with serious injuries.

The Canaries' 1-0 win against Sheffield United in September was overshadowed by disorder at the end of the match, which left one Norwich fan with a broken jaw.

South Yorkshire Police have now released images of seven men they believe could help with their investigation into the incident, which happened at about 5pm on Saturday, September 16.

Fans from both teams were leaving Bramall Lane when a disturbance broke out, which left two men from Norwich, aged 55 and 25, with 'serious injuries'.

Both men were taken to hospital and have since been discharged.

John Carver, of Bowthorpe, was left needing an operation after his jaw was broken in the incident.

Speaking at the time, Mr Carver, who works in the mail room at Aviva, said: 'I was coming out of the ground talking to my mate about the match and next thing I knew I was waking up with a paramedic over me.

'My mate said someone had come at me from behind and hit me - I never saw it coming.'

Officers investigating the disorder hope the images - which include two stills of one man - will encourage people to come forward with information.
