Wymondham-based company The Interesting Building Company wants to convert the now unused St Peter's Methodist Church, off Park Lane, and the associated church hall and Boys' Brigade buildings into homes – but neighbours are objecting over fears their properties will get less sunlight and daylight, and there will be parking problems and over- looking.

Lee Hooper, a Park Lane resident, said: 'The plans are truly dreadful.

'My main objection is it would have a huge impact on our light. There will also be roof gardens overlooking the entire area.

'As regards parking the area is already cramped. It seems crazy.'

She said there were often accidents on the junction of Park Lane and Avenue Road, and feared more would follow if the development went ahead.

More than 80 objections have been made to Norwich City Council, whose councillors will make a decision on the application.

In the application the developers say the plans provide a density consistent with the area, and aim to build high-quality residential units.

The Evening News has not been able to obtain a comment from the developers.
