Black and white footage of Diss as the winter takes hold.
Every Tuesday I shall be showcasing a new gem from YouTube’s vast library, but with a Norfolk twist. This week’s video is from YouTube user BroadlandMemories.
The winter of 1946 to 47 was one of the harshest that the UK has seen, with large drifts of snow causing chaos on the transport systems. Norfolk did not manage to escape the weather with some of the Diss residents taking a break with some ice-skating on Diss Mere. However after the snow came the thaw and many areas in the Waveney Valley had to deal with flooding that the snow caused.
