A taste of Brazilian sunshine will be brought to Norwich city centre as 30 youngsters take part in a special Olympic Torch performance.
Drayton Junior School’s Samba Band Club and samba dancers, pictured, are gearing up to perform at the Haymarket as part of next Wednesday’s celebrations.
The pupils, aged seven to 11, have been rehearsing for five months for the 30-minute show. It comes after their previous performances outside the Forum at Christmas and the Royal Norfolk Show.
The school’s music teacher, Katy Leigh, said: “The children are really excited about next week and are delighted to be involved in such a big occasion.”
The youngsters will perform in the Haymarket from 4.30pm to 5pm on July 4. They will be wearing specially decorated T-shirts and will perform three songs for the event.
