Lloyd Armstrong, formerly of Albany Road, Great Yarmouth, forced open the front door of a flat in his street on the afternoon of Saturday, June 30 this year.

Norwich Crown Court heard he selected items, placing them into a bag before he was disturbed by the occupant returning.

He then pretended to call police before walking away.

A fingerprint hit linked Armstrong to the scene and he was arrested on July 4, interviewed by officers and subsequently charged with the burglary.

After pleading guilty to the offence he was sentenced to 29 months imprisonment at a hearing last Friday, September 14.
