Two independents will fight it out for a seat on Wymondham Town Council next month.
People in the Rustens Ward area will get to vote for a new councillor when voting opens for a new police and crime commissioner for Norfolk on November 15.
Melvyn Elias, of Turner Close, Wymondham and Mark Walker, of Ashleigh Gardens, Wymondham, are both standing as independents.
The by-election follows the resignation of councillor Kevin Cooper, who resigned because of ill health.

Indeed Cllr.Cowan, party politics is in decline, soon we have to dispense with election altogether and pull a national insurance number out of a hat, how much money that would save. Good luck to both candidates, lets hope Wymondham voters, for this important seat, are not deterred from turning out by the PCC elections.

This time at a Council Bye Election not only could Labour and the Liberal Democrats fail t o find a candidate but even the Tories could not come up with one. Clear to see that local democracy is on the death bed no wonder the turnout for the Police and Crime Commisioner elections is forecast to be so bad.
