Woman taken to hospital after falling in river at Potter Heigham

A woman was taken to hospital after she fell into the River Thurne at Potter Heigham.

The East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) was called to Potter Heigham Bridge today at about 10.20am and dispatched one ambulance to the scene.

An EEAST spokesman said: “On our arrival the patient had been pulled to safety from the river and was being cared for by members of the public under the bridge. After assessments she was taken to James Paget Hospital for further care.”

The woman’s injuries are believed to be minor.
