The indecent assault happened between 4.25pm and 4.45pm last Thursday, when the woman was walking along Mountergate in the city, close to the junction with King Street.

She became aware of a man walking closely behind her muttering and crossed the road to get away from him.

But the man continued to follow her and then grabbed her bottom and squeezed hard.

The woman shouted at the offender, who walked off back up Mountergate towards Prince of Wales Road.

The man is described as white, with sandy coloured hair. He is short, of wiry build and at the time of the incident was wearing jeans and carrying plastic bags.

PC Claire Collins, Norwich East SNT, would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or has information about it. Call PC Collins on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
