Thursday, June 12, 2014
Men in Norfolk who are suffering from stress were given the chance to a free clinic yesterday – held at a pub in Norwich.
Figures revealing that one in eight men in the county are suffering from stress or anxiety have been released to coincide with Men’s Health Week, which runs until June 15.
A free NHS Wellbeing service, led by Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, was on hand for support at the Trafford Arms pub, on Grove Road, yesterday afternoon.
Chris Higgins, Trafford Arms landlord, said: “I think that this is a very positive initiative.
“As someone who has never been very good at handling stress I was looking forward to the availability of an informal chat with a professional in this field of healthcare.”
Men in Norfolk who are registered with a GP and think they may be suffering from stress or depression can refer themselves to the Norfolk Wellbeing Service.
