Norwich Pride is getting ready to celebrate it’s sixth year this summer.

The annual celebration will this year take place in the city on July 26.

The steering committee is now working hard to plan the celebration and is looking for volunteers to help run the day - no specialist skills are needed, just enthusiasm!

At a recent meeting, this year’s chairman Dean Simons said: “I am excited and proud to be chair of the 6th Norwich Pride.

“This year will be similar to previous years; free, inclusive and from the LGBT community for everyone.”

This year the parade will return to Chapelfield Gardens for music and entertainment, but the Forum will remains the main focus for the morning with stalls, talks and music.

From 10am onwards there will be stalls at the Forum, and there will be an opening ceremony at 10.30am.

The entertainment in Chapelfield Gardens will begin at midday. The parade through the city - which will start and end at Chapelfield Gardens - will be at 2pm.

From 3.30pm until 5pm there will be entertainment and speeches at the bandstand in Chapelfield Gardens.

There will also be some talks in The Curve in the Forum.

The Natasha Curson Memorial Talk will be from 11am until midday, and then at 12.30pm there will be a one-hour Question Time event with Peter Tatchell, LGBT rights advocate (TBC), Elly Barnes, director of education LGBT History Month and CN Lester, musician, writer, activist.

• Norwich Pride will be on July 26.
