A 1970 Wolseley car led a parade in Dereham this morning to mark the Queen’s diamond jubilee.
About 120 1st Dereham Scouts, Cubs and Beavers wore red, white and blue, as well as homemade crowns, and made their way to a mock coronation in St Nicholas Church.
The Queen was played by Abigail Ellis, 13, from Dereham, and the Prince Consort was played by Ashley Jarvis, also 13.
Their carriage, the blue vintage car, was driven by Ed Cushion, from Thuxton.
Claudette Webster, group scout leader for 1st Dereham Scouts, said: “We decided to do something different.”
Emma Webster, leader for 1st Dereham Cubs and Scouts, said: “It is good because it brings the community together.”
After the service the parents and youngsters enjoyed a picnic in Dereham’s Queen Mother’s Garden, near the church, and will take part in a treasure hunt around the town and Olympic-themed games later today.
