Top chef Galton Blackiston judged a special bake-off to mark the 10th anniversary of Norwich Cathedral refectory.
The competition was arranged by Simon Abel and John Holland of Norwich Cathedral. It began with a talk by Mr Blackiston, from Morston Hall at Morston and No 1 fish and chips at Cromer. Eight cakes were then presented for his judgement.
He said: “The quality today was fantastic. In fact I may well have to borrow a recipe or two for my restaurants.”
Moya Myerscough’s wheat and dairy free pilgrims’ cake was thirde and Angela Stevenson’s green and yellow seed cake was second. Sandy Taylor was first with her Waldorf Astoria cake.
