Hot on the heels of last year’s GoGoGorillas! trail come the GoGoDragons! in June 2015.

BatGrill, the Ape’d Crusader and the rest of the gorilla gang raised a huge sum of money for children’s charity Break last year, and the dragons aim to match their success.

News of the new sculpture trail was revealed yesterday, and has caused a stir on social media.

Writing on Twitter, user @Claire_A_Ashman said: “dragons! Exciting!”.

User @BKfrank_tweets added: “woohoo #GoGoDragons for @breakwriter :o) #HappyFriday”

Norwich has long-standing links to dragons, and the legend of St George, a dragon-slayer is thought to have fuelled the city’s fascination.

Two churches bear his name: St George, Tombland, and St George, Colegate.

Christina Lister posted: “Great to see a historical link with Norwich. And I know a LOT of children who will be over the moon!”

Huw Sayer wrote: “Excellent news. just what I wished for – Magic #Dragons – (am sure there is one sleeping under the castle).”

And @frommycloud simply put: “Dragons, how fantastic!”

Each dragon will be sponsored and decorated, with sponsor packs and artist packs available soon.
