Video: Passers-by help push bus up Rose Lane, Norwich, in the snow

PUBLISHED: 10:31 16 January 2013 | UPDATED: 10:32 16 January 2013

The snow brought out the best in people yesterday with passers-by stopping to help stranded vehicles.

This Daily Telegraph video shows pedestrians stopping to help a bus get up Rose Lane as much of the city centre turned into a skating ring.

  • Reminds me of the winter '62 - '63 when the double decker school bus started slipping on Thunder Lane hill. We all got out and pushed it up the hill as we wanted to get to school. The weather this week is nothing when compared to that winter.

  • Norfolk was and still is a no go area, and Norwich in particular is a skating ring, when vehicles came to inclines they could not get up them and were sliding everywhere. and became stuck, buses were abondoned everywhere 5 were they strewn along the Watton Rd close to the N&N hospital and caused chaos for emergency vehicles.. Norwich was gridlock. the company I work for makes you work through it and is not an excuse as the company I work for delivers newspapers to newsagents and shops throughout the country and there could be 6ft of snow and you still have to drive in and the shops keepers are as bad when they moan the papers are late... MENZIES DISTRIBUTION !

  • Shame on the Council for not even gritting the hills. Could have been nasty.
