The driver who got into a tight spot when his van hit a a railway bridge in Norwich found a novel way of freeing himself.
Police were called to reports from the driver that a Luton van had struck the Mansfield Lane bridge in the Lakenham area of the city at about 10.45am today.
A spokesman in the force control room said police attended but the vehicle had gone. When the driver was contacted he told officers he had “let down the tyres” before carrying on.
It is not known if any damage was caused to the bridge as a result of the incident.
