Auctioneers got their hands on hundreds of antiques as part of a charity valuation day to raise funds for a hospital appeal.
More than 200 people got involved in the event at the Assembly House in Norwich on Thursday to generate cash for the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital’s (NNUH) Targeted Radiotherapy Appeal.
The valuation day was organised by Durrants valuer Rebecca Mayhew, who is currently undergoing treatment at the Colney hospital after being diagnosed with breast cancer a year ago.
“I wanted to thank them for the amazing care I have received. The staff are amazing and I have found them quite inspiring,” she said.
People came from across Norfolk to get their antiques and collectables valued, which raised around £300 for the Targeted Radiotherapy Appeal that is aiming to generate £600,000 to offer more brachytherapy - a form of radiotherapy - for cancer patients at the NNUH.
Durrants will also be staging an online charity auction in October to raise further funds for the charity appeal. For more information, visit www.durrants.com
