Earlier today Greater Anglia services between Ipswich and Norwich, Cambridge and Peterborough were subject to “severe delays, alterations and cancellation”.

The operator said trains were now running as planned although its website has announced two alterations for later today.

The 5.02pm service from London Liverpool Street to Norwich will now end at Ipswich and will not call at Stowmarket, Diss or Norwich.

The 7.30pm train from Norwich to London will now begin at Ipswich, missing out the first two stops at Norwich and Diss.

Both changes are due to a staffing problem.

This morning a number of trains had to be cancelled while many others suffered delays.

The problems were due to over-running engineering work between Stowmarket and Diss.

  • There are engineering works planned here over this weekend too. Bus service at night and early morning etc. Best allow extra time and check before leaving to see if there is a train service if you plan to use this route.

  • But but but...yesterday you were promising big improvements. Oh, this is what you meant, the work to make the improvemnts will screw up the service indefinitely. It will be worth it in the end though, eh what.
