A man and a woman were taken to hospital following a one-vehicle crash on Norwich’s outer ring road.
The crash involving a silver Ford Puma happened shortly before midday today on the A140 Boundary Road, near the Whiffler pub.
Fire crews from Sprowston and Earlham attended the scene and helped to free one man who was trapped.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: “One man was believed to have suffered a medical event while driving and a woman, believed to be in her 40s, sustained a non-life-threatening chest injury. Both were taken to the Norwich and Norfolk University Hospital.”
A Norfolk police spokesman said there was damage to traffic lights and railings as well as a fuel leak, and the road was closed in both directions with traffic being diverted via Aylsham Road. The road reopened shortly after 1pm.
