Update: Woman taken to hospital after river rescue in Norwich city centre

Emergency services have rescued a woman from the river in Norwich city centre.

Police, ambulance and fire services, including the rescue boat, were called to the River Wensum near the Ribs of Beef pub just before 7.30am this morning.

A police spokesman said a woman had been pulled out of the river near Fye Bridge Street.

Fire crews from Carrow and Sprowston went to the scene.

The woman was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for further observations.
