Trains between Norwich and Sheringham are running again after a lorry hit a bridge today (Tuesday).
The collision happened just after 10.35am on Norwich Road, North Walsham, near CT Baker Builders’ Merchant.
A police officer was called but left the scene at 11.30am and no-one was injured.
A spokesman for Greater Anglia said the line has reopened at noon.
Eyewitness Adam Pearson, 24, from Wrights Loke, Trunch, said: “I was at the builders’ merchant timber yard and it suddenly happened. It was a loud old clunk.”
He added a railway worker called the police while he and his uncle moved the debris from the bridge and the lorry, which was being driven towards Norwich and stopped on one side of the bridge.
A Norfolk police spokesman said: “The lorry and the bridge were damaged. The lorry did not cause an obstruction.”
