As reported, police were called to the area outside the Mecca bingo hall in Aylsham Road shortly before 11.50pm.

Officers and paramedics attended the scene and a 19-year-old man was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital with serious injuries including a broken jaw.

Two men, aged 27 and 33, who were arrested on suspicion of assault, have been released on bail pending further enquiries until October 15.

A Norfolk police spokesman said today that the teenager’s condition had improved and he was due to be discharged from hospital.
