The A47 Acle Straight has reopened, almost eight hours after a lorry crash forced its closure.
The four-vehicle collision happened at about 2pm around a mile from the Great Yarmouth end, and the road remained closed during the evening rush hour.
A lorry driver was trapped after his vehicle left the road and ended up in a dyke.
Police worked to recover the vehicles for nearly eight hours, eventually clearing the scene and handing it over to the Highways Agency shortly after 9.30pm.
A police spokesman thanked motorists for their patience but said that work to recover the lorry had been delayed by the dark and rainy conditions.
