Did you see a large orange coloured object in the sky over Philadelphia Lane in Norwich on Saturday night?
Patrick Oakes said he was looking out of his kitchen window just after 10pm when he spotted something outside.
He said: “I’m 74 and I’ve never seen anything like it. It was so low in the sky. It hovered a few seconds and then disappeared in a flash. It was an orange colour and underneath it there was a bright light. It was not a plane or a helicopter, and I don’t know what it was.”
The Evening News reported a sighting of another unusual object in Aylsham a few weeks ago.
Did you see this object on Saturday night? Email reporter David Bale at david.bale2@archant.co.uk.

Oh I know Patrick Oakes---he's the guy who got hit over the head with a frying pan, as he bent the Mrs over the kitchen sink, right?

No offense Patrick, but aliens aren't going to want to visit 'Philadelphia Lane'... Unless they have an urge to research toothless-simpletons, or learn about claiming housing benefit.

The county in a drought situation, woods heaths and fields of corn tinder dry and idiots still buy and release balls of fire into the sky -pretty chinese lanterns nonsense- they are nothing but arson by carelessness. I saw some for sale in Lathams of Potter Heigham today, the manager should be thoroughly ashamed and Norfolk Fire Service should demand a ban on them.

Do we really trust the reliability of the eyesight of a 74 year old???? Especially given that at that time of night, anything he saw was probably fueled by a snifter of scotch....

It was almost definitely a chinese lantern. Saw one of these a while back and thought it looked like a small planehelicoper on fire. It was quite far away at the time.

Funny I've been asking Scotty to beam me up and told him there is no intelligent life on earth, but all he goes on about is the engines won't take it, and dilithium crystals.
