The University of East Anglia has achieved its highest ever position in a university league table – 14th place in the Guardian University Guide 2015, up three places from last year.
Edward Acton, vice-chancellor of UEA, said: “I am absolutely thrilled to see we have achieved UEA’s highest ever ranking in UK university league tables. To be named as Britain’s 14th university is testament to our commitment to improving and supporting all aspects of the university, from top-class research and academics to a student experience that is second to none.
“It is very pleasing to see last year’s league table trajectory continuing. I am extremely proud of all UEA colleagues, students and the students’ union for all they do to make UEA such a splendid place in which to live, work and study.”
Six individual courses were ranked in the top five, including American Studies, named as the best of its kind in the country.
