Two men charged after Walcott burglary

Two young men have been charged in connection with a burglary at Walcott following a police swoop.

Officers received a call at 9.30am yesterday reporting that two men had been disturbed at an address in Helena Road, Walcott, and had made off in a vehicle towards Mundesley.

Two men were arrested 20 minutes later in the vicinity of High Street, Mundesley.

One of the suspects, from North Walsham, has been accused of two counts of burglary, stealing copper cable from a property in Helena Road on March 8 and a lawn mower and strimmer on March 9.

He has also been charged with failing to stop for police.

The other man, from Mundesley, has been accused of stealing a lawn mower and strimmer from an address on Helena Road.

He was also charged with possession of a Class B drug after a quantity of cannabis was seized.

Both men have been released on conditional bail to appear before Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 24.
