Two men have been arrested in connection with a stabbing in central Norwich earlier this month.
A 22-year-old man was arrested in Barking, London, in the early hours of Sunday morning and a 21-year-old man from Ilford, in Essex, was detained shortly after 3am today by officers from the Metropolitan Police Service.
Both men have been brought to Norfolk for questioning. The 22-year-old has been released on bail until October while enquiries continue and the 21-year-old has been kept in custody at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre.
Both men were arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm in connection with an incident in St Faiths Lane, off Prince of Wales Road, on Sunday, September 15.
The incident saw two men, aged in their early 30s, approached by three men in a dark coloured Ford Focus.
A police spokesman said: “The Focus mounted the pavement and struck one of the men causing minor injury and officers believe this was a deliberate act.
“The second victim ran onto Cathedral Street where he was attacked and stabbed three times, suffering injuries to his shoulder and buttocks.”
Both men received treatment at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital but have since been released.
Police are still keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident. Anyone with information should contact Det Con Craig Brooke at Norwich CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
