Dawn Simpson, 45, kicked out at an officer who attempted to search her following a domestic argument at her home in Hill House Road.

Simpson had called police following an early-hours argument with her partner on June 7, but officers found she was drunk when they arrived and took the decision to arrest her.

She pleaded guilty to a charge of assault on a police officer at Norwich Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Mitigating, solicitor Gavin Cowe said it was the first time in months that Simpson had drunk, and that her actions were out of character.

Simpson will pay £50 compensation to the officer.
