A Thorpe school has raised over £900 worth of cat food to donate to rescue centres.
Thorpe House Langley Preparatory School on Yarmouth Road has its own SOFA Club, which stands for Speak Out For Animals and its members visited Venture Farm Cat Rescue in Mattishall.
The club approached three animal sanctuaries, the RSPCA, PACT and Venture Farm, offering to share £900 between the three of them.
The group collected £300 worth of cat food from the shop Pets at Home, and went on to Venture Farm in Mattishall where they were given a tour of the site and introduced to the 125 cats living there.
A spokesperson from the school said: “The children had a great time stroking the cats and learning about what Venture Farm does to look after and rehome cats and kittens.
“They were also treated to some refreshments before unloading the cat food and thanking the volunteers for their tour.”
This donation is the second of three that SOFA have set up to donate cat food, and the £900 they have donated in total has been raised by various fundraising activities and events that the club has organised.
