The Mayor of London has given his support to a charity supporting amputees that was founded by the wife of South Norfolk MP Richard Bacon.
Victoria Bacon and her twin sister Sarah Hope met Boris Johnson ahead of running the London Marathon next month. The sisters will be running to raise money to help child amputees in Liberia. It is a cause close to their hearts as they set up the charity Elizabeth’s Legacy of Hope - which helps children missing limbs - after Sarah’s daughter Pollyanna lost a limb when she was struck by a London bus. Sarah was also badly injured and the twins’ mother, Elizabeth, was killed in the incident.
Boris Johnson, said: “Their bravery, and in particular the bravery of Sarah’s daughter Pollyanna has been inspirational. If the family’s determination is anything to go by, I’ve no doubt the Elizabeth’s Legacy of Hope charity will benefit hugely from their marathon endeavours.”
Elizabeth’s Legacy of Hope, will be working with Street Child, to help children in Liberia. Visit www.virginmoneygiving.com/team/sarah-and-vee and www.elizabethslegacyofhope.org
