Artist Rob Pointon has captured on canvas this vibrant and colourful city scene after being inspired by two of Norwich’s key landmarks.

This painting of The Forum and St Peter Mancroft is currently on display in the window of Mandell’s Gallery, in Elm Hill, Norwich, and gallery manager Rachel Allen said it had been attracting a lot of interest.

She said: “A few months ago Rob Pointon visited Norwich to specifically paint Norwich Cathedral as part of his European tour painting cathedrals. He enjoyed exploring Norwich and was partially inspired by the Forum and its huge windows looking out to the St Peter Mancroft building. So he returned to paint this view.”

The painting will be displayed at Mandell’s Gallery until at least September 6. Next week two more paintings by Mr Pointon - of London Street and Norwich Cathedral - will also be put on display at the gallery.
