Teenage girl and man in his 50s die in A12 crash at Frostenden

Suffolk police have said a teenage girl and a man in his 50s died in a crash on the A12 at Frostenden, between Southwold and Lowestoft, last night.

The girl and man died after there was a collision between a silver Citroen and a silver Peugeot.

Emergency services including volunteers from Suffolk Accident Rescue Service and Norfolk Accident Rescue Service were called to the collision at 8.18pm.

The A12 was closed while the emergency services dealt with the incident and officers carried out a collision investigation.

A police spokesman said: “A teenage girl who was a rear seat passenger in the Citroen and the driver of the Peugeot, a man in his 50s were sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

“The male driver of the Citroen sustained serious injuries and was taken by air ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.

“Two further passengers in the Citroen and a passenger in the Peugeot were taken to the James Paget University Hospital where they are being treated for their injuries.”

Police are keen to hear from anyone who was travelling along the A12 who may have seen the two vehicles travelling along the road prior to the collision or saw the collision when it happened.

Calls should be made to PC Danny Ormes at the Serious Collision Investigation Team at Suffolk Police on 101.
