Firefighters’ time was taken up with rescuing a stuck cow and trapped boy during the day today (Thursday, September 13).

At 11.05am a fire crew from Gorleston rescued a young boy locked in a car on Kennedy Road, Gorleston. The crew used hand appliances to release the boy, giving first aid as the child was overheated.

At 1.26pm two crews, from Acle and Great Yarmouth, spent more than an hour rescuing a cow that had become stuck in a dyke in Marsh Road, Upton, using rescue lines.
