Dozens of Norfolk sixth formers attended an inaugural event in Norwich which immersed them in the world of sciences and maths.
More than 70 students attended the Youth STEMM Award Gold Conference at the University of East Anglia (UEA) last week, which focused on careers in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine (STEMM).
There were talks from professionals, tours of UEA and challenging workshops.
The Youth STEMM Award is a scheme for students in years nine to 13 designed to inspire the next generation of pupils in those subjects.
Speakers at the event included professors Tom Shakespeare and Kay Yeoman from UEA, broadcaster and astronomer Mark Thompson and Andy Brown from Anglian Water.
Samantha Fox, director and cofounder of the Youth STEMM Award, said the event would become annual, and that the speakers had been 'fantastically inspiring'.
