Since they met through mutual friends a few years ago, they have been inseparable.
So when 27-year-old Sarah Hobson was diagnosed with cervical cancer last year, her best friend Jayde Taylor wanted to do everything she could to help.
Ms Taylor, 25, persuaded her brother to get involved with her fundraising efforts and the siblings decided that they would do a sky dive to raise funds for Cancer Research and Norfolk-based charity the Big C.
Despite being “petrified” of heights, Ms Taylor, from Lakenham, said doing the jump for her friend will spur her on.
She said: “The way I looked at it was that Sarah has to live every day not sure if it’s the last to look at her kids.
“It’s something that I have always wanted to do but I always thought I’d back out. Now I am doing it for her I will do it and it will give her a little bit of support.”
Despite being diagnosed as stage four, Miss Hobson, who is mother to Joshua, 9, Jake, 7, and Lexie, 3, manages to stay positive.
Miss Hobson said: “I stay positive for my kids. If it wasn’t for them it would be different, but they keep me going. “
Ms Taylor said: “I don’t know how she does it. She is always laughing and smiling – she’s so positive about it all.”
Miss Hobson, who previously lived in the Larkman estate but moved to Humberside to stay with her family, was initially told that she was fine and was sent away from hospital.
“One minute she was fine, but then she started to tell me that she’d lost a lot of weight and didn’t know why,” Ms Taylor said.
Soon after, she was admitted to A&E after she started bleeding heavily and was eventually diagnosed.
Miss Hobson surprised doctors after they predicted last year that she wouldn’t make it until Christmas.
She said: “At the end of the day if I get upset then my body might suffer – if I stay positive then I have more of a chance of being there with my kids.”
The sky dive will take place on May 1 at 9am at Beccles Airfield.
