Young artists have been busy making work inspired by a show where an unusual guest joins a mum and daughter for tea.
The schoolchildren all watched the show The Tiger Who Came To Tea at Norwich Playhouse in December, and afterwards they were asked to create images and writing about the production.
Pupils from Nelson Infant School in Norwich, Gresham’s Pre-Prep in Holt, and Little Pedlars Nursery and Sacred Heart School in Swaffham, sent in work to the St George’s Street theatre, and their work is on display at the Playhouse’s Upper Gallery until Friday in an exhibition called What Happens in the Theatre.
Emma Brough, Norwich Playhouse’s exhibitions co-ordinator, said: “The idea behind What Happens in the Theatre was to be able to have some visual feedback from all the schools who came to see The Tiger Who Came To Tea, and to find out about the children’s response to the show.
“It’s lovely to have children’s work displayed on the same footing as our usual professional collections – the creativity of the schools’ pieces was amazing!
“It also gave parents a chance to come along and see what their children had been creating at school!”
