Norfolk has eight new deputy lieutenants after their appointments were approved by the Queen.
The eight will be available to represent the lord lieutenant Richard Jewson - the Queen's representative in Norfolk - at important events.
The appointments, which bring the total number of deputy lieutenants in Norfolk to 42, are:
• Paris Back - a mentor volunteer for Norfolk and Norwich Families' House who founded The Friends of Families' House (now merged with Break).
• Alexandra Bartram - has worked for The Norfolk Boat (Sail Training) charity for 21 years. Liaising with schools, police, youth clubs and the youth offending team, the charity helps disadvantaged and disaffected young people experience off-shore sailing.
• Thomas Courtauld - runs Barningham Estates near Norwich and has been a magistrate on the Norwich bench since 2016. He is a chairman, trustee and committee member of various organisations and charities.
• Major General Sir William Cubitt, KCVO, CBE - runs the family farming business in Honing near North Walsham. Formerly in the Coldstream Guards and Irish Guards, Sir William left the army as a Major General in 2011.
• David Goddard - runs the family business of George Goddard Ltd in King's Lynn. He had served as a committee member of the local branch of Cancer Research Campaign, the King's Lynn Charity Trustees and the North End Trust True's Yard.
• Caroline Jarrold - community affairs adviser to Jarrold and Sons Ltd and secretary to and trustee of the John Jarrold Trust.
• Mary Rudd - has worked on many different charities and committees and is currently a Lay Canon at Norwich Cathedral and chairman of the trustees for the Thursford Collection.
• Professor Andy Wood, OBE - the chief executive of Adnams, he was also the non-executive chairman for the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership and non-executive chairman of charity NORCAS.
Mr Jewson said: 'Each of the new deputy lieutenants has already demonstrated great commitment to our community in Norfolk and I am delighted to welcome them to their new role.'
