Roads reopen following ammonia gas leak in Norwich city centre

Streets in Norwich city centre have reopened after police and fire crews were called to deal with a leak of ammonia gas from a faulty fridge.

Magdalen Street and nearby Edwards Street were closed at 2.15pm today after emergency services were called to the scene at a property in Magdalen Street and an evacuation took place, which included people from Epic Studios.

Both roads had been reopened by 3.45pm and a fire engine has remained at the scene while investigations take place into the cause of the leak. Fire crews from Sprowston, Carrow and Earlham attended the incident.
